The Microalgae Facial Renewing Mask is a true game changer in the world of facial cosmetic skin care therapies.  As one of the earliest forms of life, microalgae have survived on Earth for billions of years by adapting and developing resistance to the stresses of mother nature.  Certain species of microalgae produce bioactive anti-aging properties that have stood the test of time. The combination of a powerful species of microalgae with Dr. Piasecki's proprietary unlocking powder allows for the gentle release of the bioactive compounds within each algae cell.  Application to the face in the form of a mask has been clinically proven to create an immediate cosmetic enhancement to the face, a healthy and rejuvenated glow with reduced fine lines and reduction in tired/aged appearance.  Clinical trials have shown results to dramatically increase with continued use of the facial mask.

How It Works

Modern science is fascinated these days with stem cells.  We are learning that they play a very important role in healing and recovery from injury and stem cell injections/therapies have been heralded as a future treatment for conditions ranging from spinal cord injuries to heart attacks to literally repair and regenerate the injured tissue. 

This is relevant to the anti-aging world because every day our skin sustains thousands upon thousands of micro-injuries from wind, stress, temperature fluctuations and particularly sun exposure, which causes wrinkles, fine lines, droopy and saggy tissue, red/brown skin lesions, and even skin cancer.  As we age, our army of mesenchymal cells (the type of stem cells that are largely involved in healing) goes down (by age 60, we have 1% the number of mesenchymal cells we had at birth).  This is one of the reasons why major surgery performed on neonates can result in scar-less healing as opposed to later in life.

We are learning that the magical action of these cells is special proteins and phytonutrients, which are used by stem cells to instruct and communicate with surrounding cells at the site of an injury (like aging). 

One exciting source for phytonutrients from the plant world is microalgae.  While on first look algae seem entirely different than humans, in truth, the human genome shares much of its genetic signature with plants, which probably explains why so many important medications in the history of medicine have been discovered in plants.

Algae is unique because it’s been present on the planet longer than any other life form.  They’ve literally had billions of years to evolve compared to 100,000 years for humans.  Translation: they may have figured a few things out that we haven’t yet.

There are estimated to be over 100,000 species of algae on the planet, so not all algae are the same. We harness a strong and durable species that has been found around the world, thriving in a range of environments and ecosystems. Combined with advanced growing techniques that push the algae to supercharge their production of phytonutrients, we are literally growing tiny bioreactors of cosmetically beneficial compounds.  These compounds can include peptides, amino acids, antioxidants, omega oils, polysaccharides, auxins, gibberelins, jasmonic acid and cytokines.

There are several examples on the market in the past and present that include algae.  In most cases these include common seaweed (macro-algae) that is dried and ground up into a powder.  The problem with this is that many of the valuable and helpful proteins are also ground up and exposed to heat during the drying process, and therefore are no longer bioactive.

Piasecki MD’s microalgae is not dried and ground up.  It’s fresh and shipped on ice.  It needs to be kept refrigerated too, and once it arrives will last 2 weeks in the fridge.  For cosmetic use, it’s first mixed with our unlocking agent, which is powder that helps open the cell wall of the algae and releases the bioactive properties.  This is then applied to the face and left to dry for 15 minutes, then gently washed off.  As opposed to many cosmetic products for which positive results aren’t seen for weeks, the cosmetic benefit is immediate – reduced fine lines, improved texture, and a healthy glow that makes the face look refreshed and rejuvenated. 

How To Use

Combine entire contents of Unlocking Agent packet with Microalgae Mask packet.  Mix thoroughly.  This will cause the mask to foam up as the algae cells are opened up.  Apply to entire face and neck if desired.  Relax for 10-15 minutes.  Mask will dry on the face and may tingle a little.  Wash thoroughly with a washcloth and cool water.

• Cleanse face with Serisilk Skin Smoothing Cleanser before and after applying the mask.  This will open your pores to allow deeper penetration of the microalgae as well as moisturizer products you apply following treatment.

• Do not be afraid to apply this product close to your eyes.  You’ll see immediate improvements to crow’s feet.
• Use the coldest water that’s comfortable in the final stages of washing off the mask.
• Optimal, ongoing results are obtained using this product 3 times a week, however you will see immediate results if you’d like a glow for a special event.
• For external use only, keep out of eyes and mouth.
• Mask may be kept fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
• Mask may be stored in your freezer for up to a year.
